The Twin Oaks of Villa Reale
Size, position, elegance: this is why the famous oaks of the Royal Villa excel among the tree monuments of Monza and Brianza.
In its immensity, the Monza Park is home to an incredible variety of monumental trees.
The twin oaks are undoubtedly the most emblematic plant monument of the green area, as well as of the entire province.
The two incredible specimens majestically watch over the palace and gardens from the large and very popular green lawn, which softly stretches from the steps of the rear façade of the opulent palace.
Planted in the earliest years of the 19th century, the red oak and the European oak today have a perfect bearing and a truly considerable size: the former has a trunk circumference of 6.8 m (diameter 215 cm), the latter 4.8 m (diameter 155 cm). Together, with their height of more than 25 m, they form an ensemble of very high scenic value. They are an irresistible lure for photography enthusiasts, who can capture the elegance of the two oak trees, the grandeur of the Royal Villa and the bright colours of the manicured gardens in a single shot. Recent work to demarcate the buffer zone of the two beautiful trees has also shed more light on their priceless monumental value.
A green monument that is accessible to the public during opening hours.
